Food Allergen Information for School Foodservice Professionals
We here at Golbon recognize the importance of delivering the most helpful, accurate, and up-to-date information to our partners in the School Foodservice industry. The health and safety of America’s children depend on it.
Approximately 2.2 million school-aged children have a food allergy. Food allergies land children in the hospital about 9500 times a year and each year about 150 people, mostly children and young adults, die from anaphylaxis due to a food allergy.
We must all join our resources and efforts together to provide adequate education and the needed advocacy to eliminate this health risk for our children. School Foodservice professionals are in a key position to accomplish this goal. That is why we have provided a link here on our RFS website to an International Food Information Council (IFIC) document which addresses topics specific to the School Foodservice industry.
